Core Systems is adding to their industry-leading line of rugged mission computers with the release of the new AR5 and AR5D. These new rugged tactical computers are SWaP-Optimized with a height of just 1.1” on the AR5 and 2.2” on the AR5D while maintaining the performance of larger versions.
The two new additions to the Core Systems Rugged AR Series adds to the variety of options, leaving clients to easily find the perfect fit for their mission. The latest releases add versatility with their size as they can both be held in the palm of your hand. Though they are small, the AR5 and AR5D are built to survive extreme environmental conditions thanks to Core Systems on-site MIL-STD-810 testing.
Core Systems President Chris Schaffner believes the new tactical computers will provide those in the military a room-saving solution that provides unmatched power. “The new SWaP-Optimized AR5 and AR5D have a fully sealed design that improves upon the already stellar line of Core Systems mission computers. Both computers include the latest Intel Chipset technology and can be customized to the client’s needs. Core Systems continues to provide the military with rugged solutions for any mission necessary.”
The AR5 has 1 removable sealed tray for CPU and SSD drive. The latest mission computer from Core Systems includes the latest Intel® Chipset technology with 1.91GHz max clock speed and also includes 38999 MIL-Circular connectors for I/O and power.
The AR5 is tested to meet MIL-STD-810G & DO-160G Shock, Vibration, Thermal, Altitude, and Humidity. The two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports support keyboard, mouse, and other devices. Also included is a RS-232 port, three 8254 timer/counters, and I2C support. There are eight Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports with remote boot support and PoE functionality. Other features include integrated Intel HD Graphics with DisplayPort output.
The AR5D is a dual computer in one chassis that has two independent removable sealed trays for CPU/hard drives. It has two independent red/black systems and also includes 38999 MIL-Circular connectors for I/O and power.
Each of the independent computers have two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports support keyboard, mouse, and other devices. Also included is a RS-232 port, three 8254 timer/counters, and I2C support. There are 8 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) ports on each computer with remote boot support and PoE support. Each system has integrated Intel HD Graphics with DisplayPort output (DP++).
The addition of these two mission computers expands the already comprehensive line of tactical AR systems. Core System’s rugged Mission Computer line includes a patent-pending design which allows our systems to efficiently transfer heat to the outer fins of the chassis. All our rugged computers are all MIL-STD-810 tested to withstand the rigors and unpredictability of military environments.
