Core Systems Now Offers 25GbE Ultra-Low-Latency Networking as a Solution for the ATMOS2 Rugged Computing Platform
Integration of the AMD Solarflare X2522-25G-PLUS adapter will give defense and mission-critical users faster data movement, lower latency and reduced CPU load at the tactical edge.
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Oct. 27, 2026 – Core Systems, a designer and manufacturer of rugged computing solutions for defense and industrial customers, today announced that it is integrating high-performance 25 Gigabit Ethernet networking into its ATMOS2 rugged computing platform. The new ATMOS2 configuration will incorporate the AMD Solarflare X2522-25G-PLUS dual-port 25GbE network adapter, bringing the adapter’s ultra-low-latency performance and hardware acceleration to demanding, mission-critical environments. The configuration is planned for availability in the first quarter of 2027.

Unlike conventional network cards, the X2522-25G-PLUS is engineered for environments where speed, precision and reliability are non-negotiable. Core Systems engineers selected the adapter and are integrating it so that ATMOS2 can move large volumes of sensor, video and command data without becoming the bottleneck in a larger system.
The goal is rapid data processing, reduced CPU overhead and consistent, high-throughput communications. Those qualities make the adapter an ideal fit for the ATMOS platform and the operators who depend on it.
Dual-port 25GbE: Two 10/25GbE SFP28 ports will provide bandwidth headroom for data-intensive workloads and support redundant or segregated network paths.
Ultra-low latency: The adapter supports kernel-bypass acceleration, which shortens the path between the network and the application so time-sensitive data can arrive faster and more predictably.
Hardware acceleration: The adapter offloads network processing from the host, which is designed to free CPU cycles for mission applications such as signal processing, analytics and AI inference.
Precision timing: Hardware timestamping on the adapter supports accurate time synchronization across distributed sensors and systems.
Consistent throughput: The X2522-25G-PLUS is built for steady performance under sustained load, helping keep communications stable when the mission depends on them.
For defense programs, faster networking translates directly into faster decisions. ATMOS2 with 25GbE networking is designed for C5ISR, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), sensor fusion and edge processing applications, where data must be captured, moved and acted on in real time.
By reducing latency and CPU overhead at the network layer, ATMOS2 will give integration more processing capacity for mission software within the same rugged footprint. That will help programs field more capability without adding size, weight or power.
“Our customers operate where every millisecond and every processor cycle counts. Integrating the AMD Solarflare X2522-25G-PLUS into ATMOS2 will give them the speed, precision and reliability of a high-performance data center network in a platform built for the field.”
